Ford Reached 100000th Engine Mark In India


Ford is one of the promising car manufacturer in India has recently reached 100000th mark in India. Ford India's Maraimalai Nagar manufacturing plant reached this achievement in just 14 months after its establish. The plant was established in January 2010 and it has an ability to manufacture 250,000 engines per Annam.

Speaking on the occasion President and Managing Director of Ford India Mr. Michael Boneham said "We are thrilled and proud to celebrate the 100,000 production milestone in such a short space of time - my congratulations to all plant employees for a job well done! This world-class manufacturing facility reinforces our intent and commitment to compete with great products and powertrains in all segments."

Ford Figo is the popular car from the company which has won many prestigious awards like ‘Car of the Year 2010’, Premium Hatchback award, Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit-based car manufacturer Ford ruled the 2010 edition of the ET-ZigWheels.

Audi Q5 Launched In India


Audi Q5 - The German luxury car manufacturer Audi has recently (28 March 2011) launches its new product Audi Q5 2.0 TDI Quattro in Indian market. It is a SUV which is going to give a strong competition for BMW X3 in domestic market. Luxury car market in India is getting great demand these days, so the Company is expecting Audi Q5 2.0 TDI Quattro Diesel to be a decent hit. It comes with both petrol and diesel engine, the price tag of this car is Rs 3,905,000 (ex-showroom Maharashtra). The company takes a month to deliver it after its book.

Speaking on the occasion the Head of Audi India Mr. Michael Perschke said "We are confident that the addition of the powerful 2.0 TDI q engine to the Audi Q5 range in India will strengthen and sustain our leadership position in the luxury SUV segment. The all new Audi Q5 2.0 TDI q, resonates higher efficiency and dynamic performance with its new engine and refreshed array of characteristics."

He added "This encouraging performance reinforces the increased aspiration for technical finesse and progressive sophistication among luxury automotive customers in India. Audi India will continue to expand its product line-up and deliver path-breaking and award winning cars to cater to this rising need."

BMW X3 To Hit Indian Market By June 2011



BMW X3 is ready to hit Indian roads; India’s largest luxury car maker BMW has recently leaked the information about the launch date of BMW X3. It is well know luxury SUV around the globe; the Company has recently launched its cheapest SUV BMW X1 in Indian market. But it did not glow due to its cheap quality which does not meet BMW standards. The Company is investing Rs 180 crores to expand its production and dealerships in India.

The President of BMW Mr. Andreas Schaaf recently stated in an interview that “The X3 to be launched in India will be assembled from completely knocked down (CKD) kits at the Chennai plant.” He added “BMW is committed to India. The group sees huge potential in the market and plans to expand its product range this year, the company have increased the capacity of its Chennai plant to 10,000 per annum from earlier capacity of 8,000 units”.

BMW X3 will directly competes against the models like Audi Q5 in India, currently the company is selling its models through 20 dealers, it plans to increase the dealerships up to 40 by 2012 in domestic market.

Tata Indica EV2 is available in both petrol and diesel variants.

Tata Indica EV2 Price : Petrol Version starts from INR 2,95,000 and goes upto INR 3,58,000. Indica EV2 CR4 Diesel version starts from INR 3,95,000 and goes upto 4,77,000, all prices are ex-showroom Delhi prices.

Italian luxury car maker Maserati to Enter Indian Market


Maserati is a luxury car maker of Italy. It has a history of 97 years in Italian market. The Company was established in 1914, in Bologna. Thereafter it has seen the huge success, It has been owned by the Italian car giant Fiat S.p.A. since 1993. Inside the Fiat Group, Maserati was initially associated with Ferrari S.p.A., but more recently it has become part of the sports car group including Alfa Romeo.

The Company is now intending to enter Indian market by April 2011. Tata Group chairman Mr.Ratan Tata has mentioned few years back that Maserati Quattroporte was his once of the favorites cars in the world. Initially the company is planning to sell 3 models in India i.e. Maserati Quattroporte, GranTurismo Coupe and GranCabrio. The brand is expected to compete against BMW, AUDI and Mercedes Benz in domestic market. The price range of this brand starts from 3 crores and goes up to 4.75 Crores. The Maserati is expected to use Fiat India’s Dealerships for Marketing due to their association with Fiat.

Tata Motors to hike prices of passenger vehicles

Tata Motors recently announced that it will increase the prices of its passenger vehicles. From April 1 customers will feel the heat of price. An official statement from the company confirmed about the hike in prices, apart from Tata Nano all other passenger vehicles is affected by price hike. The main reason behind the hike in prices is the increasing cost of raw materials.

Volvo S60 receives 100 bookings


Volvo S60Volvo has received more than 100 bookings for its recently launched Volvo S60. Volvo S60 falls in luxury segment. It is the cheapest car from the Company in domestic market. Within a short period of its launch, it has received more than 100 bookings. This shows the rising demand for luxury cars even after rising prices in fuel.

Volvo the Swedish luxury car maker is also planning to open 5 more dealerships in India. It is getting excellent responses from Indian market. In order to grab luxury car market in India, the company is strengthening its network around the country. The expected dealerships will be at Kolkata, jaipur, Ahmadabad, Chennai and Bangalore. The Company is targeting 12 dealerships in India by the end of 2011.

Managing Director of Volvo India Mr. Paul de Voijs said ‘’we are very optimistic the market will continue to grow and gradually we will also become a significant player.” He said that this bookings are expected, the company is hoping that they will get more bookings on Volvo S60.
